Falkner Winery Wedding Photography | Temecula CA

Kelly and Adam were married at the beautiful Falkner Winery in Temecula. We were so honored to be selected for their wedding photography. We first met Kelly and Adam last fall while they were researching wedding photographers. They were referred by one of our lovely previous couples and so we knew we would get along really well with them. When they came by our office to meet us we ended up talking for hours. Since then we have been fortunate to build a wonderful friendship with them and meet many of their amazing friends and family. By the time the wedding day came around we had a really good sense of who they are as individuals and as a couple. We were proud to be able to capture that in their photos. We love that Kelly is a bit camera shy and that Adam can't get enough photos. They really make a fantastic pair!

Thank you Kelly and Adam for allowing us the pleasure of documenting your wedding day. And thank you to your friends and family for welcoming us during all the pre-wedding and wedding festivities. We look forward to celebrating many more happy occasions with all of you!

Griffith Park Observatory Engagement Photography | Los Angeles Engagement

We had an awesome time photographing this couple at Griffith Park Observatory recently. Our Los Angeles Engagement session started along the trails of Griffith Park and we finished the evening at the Observatory. There were a lot of crowds that day, but it was good that we had some tricks up our sleeve!

This couple is so cute and we adore their smiles. They are so easy going that it wasn't difficult at all to capture the essence of their love.

Sunsets are so romantic. This moment is perfection frozen in time. 

We had several dress changes throughout the session which is something that we encourage our brides and grooms to do when they book our multi hour coverage. This way we can play around with different looks and have fun!

One reason why we love engagement photography is because we get to play and execute our vision without the time pressures from a wedding day. Below are our most favorite!

Night portraits are so fun because of the drama. Rob and I love photographing at night because although it is more challenging, it is also very rewarding.

Villa San Juan Capistrano Wedding Photography - Sweet and Saucy

We recently attended the ABC OC event at the Villa San Juan Capistrano to network with the area's biggest wedding professionals. We had a great time, and it was wonderful to be surrounded by amazing talent who strive to do nothing but the best! Brides checking out venues should definitely consider The Villa if they want a quaint and intimate venue with an outdoor reception and great potential for some artistic Villa San Juan Capistrano wedding photography. The space was really is perfect for a outdoor ceremony and reception. What was really neat about the venue was that it was about 60 degrees that evening but because of the strategically placed outdoor heaters, the whole area was warm- no sweaters necessary! The venue has the feel of a spanish house, and because of the tall walls covered with lush green ivy you have that sense of intimacy with organic and rustic flair. My favorite part of the evening was that Sweet and Saucy were there with a plethora of desserts. Check out our photos below.

Firesky Resort Wedding Photography Scottsdale

We're so happy and proud that this is our first wedding on our brand new blog. But as much as a milestone as it is for us, it's even bigger that we announce Alice and Ben's marriage to the world! Their wedding was a amazing two day event.  As Ben's mother said to me, "Ben and Alice are now married in the eye's of God, in the eye's of the law, and in the tradition of the Chinese Culture."  There's no getting out of it now guys! LOL :)  But seriously, we couldn't be happier for the two of you, and we can't wait for many more visits to Arizona and celebrating more special moments with you and your families. Below is just a sneak preview of their Catholic Church Ceremony at St Bernard's Church, their American Wedding Reception at Firesky Resort, their Chinese Tea Ceremony, and their Chinese Wedding Reception at the Great Wall Banquet. Phew!  That's a lot of celebrating!  But Alice and Ben totally deserved every moment of it, every toast, and every well wish.  We are so honored to have been invited to be a part of it all. Cheers to Ben and Alice!

The Bridal Party

There wasn't a shortage of candid happy moments either. 

This was one of my favorite moments of the getting ready. I had gone down the hall to check in with Ben and the guys and all of the sudden I hear shouting coming from down the hall.  I ran back to the girls room, and I heard the ladies cheering to the world "ALICE IS GETTING MARRIED!"  Such a sweet moment.

They even had a grand ceremony exit with BUBBLES.

If we said to people Sonic the Hedgehog battled a giant banana you think people would believe us?  No we weren't high. It happened.

May and Florin's Wedding | Part 2

If someone was asked what qualities would describe May and Florin's relationship, some might describe them as down-to-earth, fun, and breathtaking (you'll understand later). Both are lighthearted and have an emphatic silliness to them, but their love isn't all just about fun; they are a cute and romantic couple. It is hard to be around them and not be enveloped in the moment with them. During their ceremony vows and reception toasts, it was hard not to be overcome with emotion. We hope the photos posted do justice to the love that they share.

They toasted with a homemade moonshine that Florin's grandmother made from Romania. You can't feel your tongue afterwards.

The bridal party "kidnapped" May during the reception. Florin had to win her back through a series of challenges, one of them being "Test your Might!".

This is Rob's favorite photograph. Although it's the same one above, the edit below just brings out more breathtaking drama.

Portuguese Hall | Wedding Photography | Artesia, CA

      Jennifer and Eddie are a match made in heaven. We got to know them over the course of their wedding planning, and they are an adorable and beautiful couple. Jennifer told us the story of how she was feeling sick at work one day, and having heard this, Eddie, only knowing Jennifer as an acquaintance at that time, went during his break to go buy her some medicine. Later, a co-worker asked Jennifer if she would consider dating Eddie and Jennifer responded, "No. Because Eddie isn't the kind of guy you date; he's the kind of guy you marry." And marry him she did!

      We had the honor of documenting Jennifer and Eddie's wedding that took place at Our Lady of Refuge Church in Long Beach with their reception at the Portuguese Hall in Artesia. Because we like to tease, we are giving a small glimpse into Jennifer and Eddie's day.

Jennifer's grandmother passed down her wedding ring for Jennifer to have when she got married. And to honor her, Jennifer pinned the ring next to her heart inside her wedding gown. 

As a gift to his Groomsmen, Eddie gave out personalized flasks. AWESOME!

Looking absolutely gorgeous, Jennifer walked out of her dressing room showing off her wearing the gown for the first time.

Last but not least, we have to mention a little surprise that goes by the name of Neal and his Thunderbird. Eddie, you got yourself some stiff competition there. ;) inside joke. 

Neal happened to see us as he was driving and graciously volunteered his Thunderbird for a couple bridal portraits!

Aquarium of the Pacific Wedding Photography | Long Beach

   A few weeks ago, we previewed Tina and Erik's wedding at the Aquarium of the Pacific. Without further adieu, here is their wedding day, complete with a video highlight. This wedding was particularly special as Tina is my sister. Despite being a bridesmaid, and without a camera for many parts of the day, our awesome Jessica Elizabeth team handled the photography, cinematography, and interactive photobooth with stride. To my amazing and talented husband, Robert, thank you for making this day so beautiful! Special thanks to Kevin and the rest of our Jessica Elizabeth team for rocking this event! Cannon's | Blue Lantern Inn | Dana Point | Wedding Photography

Sharon & Fred's Wedding: Part 2

Sharon & Fred stayed at the beautiful Blue Lantern Inn, in Dana Point, CA for their wedding night.  We had the opportunity to take a few beautiful bridal portraits of them before heading over to Cannon's Restaurant for their ceremony & reception.  

These photos were taken of Sharon looking out onto the water from her suite's balcony.

I think Fred likes what he sees. Yep- she's gorgeous!

Although we had scoped out the beach just a few days before the wedding, the beach was crazy bright and insanely windy and cold on the wedding day. But Sharon & Fred are troopers and braved the jetty long enough for Robert to capture this photo.

We were able to sneak Sharon & Fred out of their reception for just a few minutes and take them to the Blue Lantern Inn next door for these photos.

Orange CA | Wedding | Photography

What do you get when you combine lovely weather, a beautiful church, a gorgeous bride, and a handsome groom?  Yep, you guessed it: Frank & Cathy's Wedding.  Without further ado, we are proud to share with you a peek of Frank & Cathy's wedding day.  

The ceremony took place at St. Joseph's Church in Santa Ana.  Although we did take the traditional family photos outside the church, Frank & Cathy also wanted to do some fun and creative Bridal Portraits. So, we made a pit stop in Old Towne Orange on our way to the reception.

Anaheim Hills Golf Course | Wedding Photography

   We remember the first time we met with Rochelle. She was so excited to be getting married to her fiance, Jason, who at the time lived out of state. They were acquaintances, turned best friends, turned fabulous couple. When we were first introduced to Jason, it was clear they were meant to be together. On a brisk April afternoon at the Anaheim Hills Golf Course, the sun had broken through the rain clouds. Jason and Rochelle jumped the broom!

   Rob and I genuinely had a wonderful time. There were a lot of photo buffs here, and it made things very fun. We even showed a few of Rochelle's family some night shooting tricks! Here is a preview of Rochelle and Jason's wedding.

Happy Veteran's Day everyone! Jessica and I want to thank everyone who has served or is currently serving in the name of our country. Freedom is not free and we don't take that for granted. 

We also thought it would be cool to show of engagement photos from last weekend of our friend Pete, who is currently serving the Navy. We had the honor of photographing Pete and his fiance, Erika, in Balboa Park, San Diego. We definitely had a great time!

   Pete even brought his Dress Blues suit! We hope you guys like these photos!

Long Beach Ebell Club | Wedding Session with PhotogShootout

This past Wednesday, the group dubbed PhotogShootout, led by Garrett Davis and Hanssie Trainor, put together a Wedding session at the Long Beach Ebell Club. Periodically, we will attend these events to socialize with new and veteran photographers as well as experiment with techniques. Really, it's our chance have fun with photography. 

Jessica and I have been really busy lately, but when we heard that the shoot was hosted at the Ebell Club, we had to clear our schedule because we've heard some great things about the venue. Even though it was only for a couple of hours, we were glad to have participated for some of it.

A tribute to fashion photographers: Markus and Indrani. It doesn't really do them justice, and unlike them, this shot was all natural light. 

The bride's eyes in this photograph has a wonderful fierceness to them. She exudes confidence and I think that is what's so beautiful and seductive about her. 

An allusion to what's to come. 

This shot was Jessica's idea. As the group walked around she said, "Make sure you get the window in the shot." None of us understood at first, but as I began to frame the image... well, see below. Very interesting composition in my opinion. 

Just because it isn't a beach setting or some surreal, endless, landscape, doesn't mean that it can't be compelling, cinematic, just awesome!

When editing this one, I was inspired to make a movie poster. Latin Romance... anyone?
